We plan to use a diverse range of effects and filters in our movie trailer. these will be added to our clips through Final Cut and feature both some common effects of movie trailers, particularly horror genre such as fade in/outs, clean cuts and flashes. we will also use some more exclusive effects for our trailer such as overlays, color correction and motion backgrounds. the combination of these will help create a more professional horror trailer with a higher surface realism and generally, a better overall aesthetic to the movie footage.
We plan to use effects and filters from existing horror genre trailers. these include the likes of the motion backgrounds from Grave Encounters 2 which shows a dark smoky background. we plan to use this motion background as a basis for our subtitles to be placed onto.

Our use of flashes and fades are also used in many existing paranormal trailers, for example; Sinister (2012) and Paranromal Activity 4 (2012). The flashes will be used to make the audience jump and give them a sudden scare! they will be used between a change in locations so both show the change of time in the movie. They will also create a Bathez Enigma Code within our trailer as the images we will flash will include the characters in their possessed position. this will form the iconic image for our film which will help the audience clearly outline the sub genre as paranormal. The use of fade in/outs will be used as an alternative transition as opposed to creating a mediocre trailer with only the use of 'Clean Cuts'. we also believe the use of fades are much more effective in horror as they can act as a metaphorical clue to the final equilibrium.
