The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) is an online database for movies,TV,News and Video Games. it is one of the largest entertainment destinations on the web and has a growing mobile population with its 100 million unique users each month. IMDB shows reviews from critics as well as ratings and other aspects of media platforms. This can be used as a research tool in order to provide us with the viewers thoughts on certain movies or sub genres which we can use to help us decide which sub genre, plot, casting or props to use in our trailer. IMDb shows us that the first three 'Paranormal Activity' films received decent ratings. The Paranormal Activity films partly inspired us to do a trailer based around the paranormal sub-genre because it's becoming more popular over the passed few years and the Paranormal Activity films seemed to give the sub-genre a higher status in the horror movie world. The target markets' interest in this type of horror is rising, as shown in our Google trends web page (http://exitsurvival.weebly.com/google-trends.html). As you can see from the ratings given to each of the Paranormal Activity films, the first Paranormal Activity (2007) gained the highest average rating from the IMDB critics. we beleive this is because it was the first film of its kind, and although it was filmed on a very low budget, it managed to receive $193,355,800. As our movie trailer will be filmed on a very limited budget, much like Paranormal Activity we hope to make the same connection with viewers as they did although on a significantly smaller scale.
